The self-catering cottage, or gîte, is a lovingly restored 14th century detached stone cottage for up to two people, set in the beautiful Aquitaine countryside of the Bordeaux wine region of south west France. The gîte is situated in the grounds of a restored 13th century house, whose owners speak English and French, located in the small hamlet of Gasquerie in the Gironde, in south west France.

Being surrounded by fields, woods and the vineyards typical of south west France, the setting of the small hamlet of Gasquerie provides peace, privacy and tranquillity without total isolation.

The gîte is situated only 10 miles from Saint Emilion, 5 miles from the market town of Castillon la Bataille (situated on the Dordogne River) and 30 miles from the city of Bordeaux. The gîte provides an ideal location for any individual or couple wanting peace and tranquillity together with activity, ranging from the beauty of a small village or market town to the bustling life of one of France's most vibrant cities.

Bordeaux and Bergerac airports are both about 50 minutes away by car. The TGV train stops at Libourne (15 miles away) and cars can be hired from there. See links page for more details.
